Research and Development

At Microrelleus we work to improve our service, our technology, ability and knowledge. Our aim is to be able to offer to our customers new high added-value solutions.

We work on R&D from 3 different aspects:

Own R&D

When we have a problem that we don’t know the solution, and we consider that can have impact in customers or some markets, we begin an internal R&D project to find the solution. Sometimes we collaborate with customers or partners to reach the solution together. One example is the anti-scratch textures over mold developed in Microrelleus in collaboration with SEAT. We also work on own developments to be able to offer new services to customer. Some examples are soft-touch textures, superhydrophobicity, etc.

Subcontracted R&D

High number of our daily work projects are for new products or processes development. We have done projects to improve production efficiency or new products creation using our femtosecond laser machine for micro-milling. We also have developed functional textures (both in prototype and mold) for medical industry, pharmacy, automotive, packaging and electrical device industry. One example is the creation of functional textures over mold to give optical applications on plastic parts: controlled light diffusion, design diffusion, etc.

Public Funded R&D project

We know the importance of the innovation in our service in a mid-term and long-term vision of our company. So we collaborate, both in an outsourced way or like direct partners, in different state or European funded projects. Our aim is to acquire knowledge and network to offer, every time more and more, an innovative and high-added value service.
